Duration- Long Term Contract

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Implements and oversees psychological care policies, coordinates mental health care in the facility, and ensures compliance with all regulations.
• Ensures quality and appropriateness of psychiatric and medical care for residents.
• Maintains a valid, unrestricted license to practice psychiatric medicine; holds an MD in Psychiatry.
• Obtains consent for psychotropic medications before prescription, responds to surveyor questions during inspections.
• Consults with the Administrator and Director of Nursing on policies/procedures for mental health care, documentation in EMR, and timely review of resident information.
• Develops and delivers staff training and educational programs regarding mental health care.
• Monitors mental health practitioner performance and ensures all delegated tasks are within scope and regulatory compliance.
• Meets with families about resident mental health needs, may fill in for attending psychiatrists as needed.
• Provides at least 10–15 hours onsite per month, and as the census grows, ensures sufficient onsite psychiatric, psychologist, and therapy services five days per week.
• Maintains 24/7 phone availability, participates in quality and facility assessment committees, provides written reports, and supports advanced directives and end-of-life care for mental health needs.
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience as a psychiatric provider in a long-term skilled nursing facility.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $63.76 - $76.78 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
