Psychiatrist

Position Overview

Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients. This role includes prescribing and managing medications, delivering psychotherapy when appropriate, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic interviews.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications.
  • Provide psychotherapy or supportive counseling as appropriate.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment as necessary, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Review and interpret lab results and other diagnostic tests related to psychiatric care.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and care coordination meetings.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to clinical staff regarding patient care and crisis intervention.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the EMR system.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay current with psychiatric research, best practices, and continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits when required.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in [State].
  • DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Prior experience in outpatient psychiatry or integrated care preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $100.00 - $110.00 per hour
