Position Overview
Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients. This role includes prescribing and managing medications, delivering psychotherapy when appropriate, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic interviews.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications.
- Provide psychotherapy or supportive counseling as appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment as necessary, and ensure continuity of care.
- Review and interpret lab results and other diagnostic tests related to psychiatric care.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and care coordination meetings.
- Provide consultation and guidance to clinical staff regarding patient care and crisis intervention.
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the EMR system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay current with psychiatric research, best practices, and continuing education requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits when required.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in [State].
- DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
- Prior experience in outpatient psychiatry or integrated care preferred.
