Position Overview

CFG Health Network is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Consultation-Liaison (C&L) Psychiatry team at St. Peter’s University Hospital, a 400-bed acute care hospital located in New Brunswick, NJ.

The psychiatrist will provide C&L psychiatric consultations, crisis evaluations, and psychiatric care for both adults and children within the hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a flexible part-time schedule (1–2 days/week, 7-hour shifts) in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric consultations and crisis evaluations for patients in medical/surgical units and the emergency department
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for both adult and pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with hospital medical staff, social workers, and nursing teams to support patient care and treatment planning
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and provide recommendations for psychiatric management
  • Document clinical evaluations and treatment recommendations in accordance with CFG and hospital standards

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

  • Active New Jersey medical license (or eligibility to obtain)

  • DEA and CDS certification

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
