Job Overview

Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy (including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy), and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Provide crisis intervention and manage acute psychiatric episodes with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and accurate medical documentation.
  • Perform intake assessments for new patients, ensuring thorough data collection and accurate medical records management.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver mental health counseling and psychiatric services remotely, expanding access to care.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment strategies as needed based on clinical data and patient feedback.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication side effects, and coping strategies to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatry by engaging in ongoing professional development related to PTSD care, addiction counseling, behavioral health, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA privacy rules while managing sensitive medical records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Post-residency experience working in inpatient or outpatient settings is highly preferred; experience with hospital environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or working with people with developmental disabilities is desirable.
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities (psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy), and crisis management techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation methods, and mental health counseling practices.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation standards including intake forms, progress notes, treatment plans, and HIPAA compliance protocols.
