We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients of all ages, including those with developmental disabilities and complex mental health conditions such as PTSD and addiction issues.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy), medication management (psychopharmacology), and other therapeutic modalities tailored to individual needs.
- Provide ongoing patient care through outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or telehealth platforms, ensuring continuous monitoring of treatment progress and adjusting plans accordingly.
- Manage crisis situations with prompt and effective intervention strategies to ensure patient safety and stability.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers—to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake notes, progress reports, medication records, and discharge summaries.
- Engage in data collection and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery efficiency.
- Stay current with medical terminology updates, diagnostic criteria, and emerging best practices within behavioral health and psychiatry.
- Participate in training sessions on topics such as addiction counseling, PTSD care, working with people with developmental disabilities, and telehealth best practices to continually expand your expertise.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Post-residency experience demonstrating proficiency in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment across diverse populations; experience with pediatric psychiatry is highly valued.
- Proven expertise in psychotherapeutic techniques including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Strong background in psychopharmacology with the ability to prescribe medications safely within scope of practice.
- Experience working in hospital settings—both inpatient and outpatient—and familiarity with medical records systems adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Skilled in crisis management with the ability to handle urgent mental health situations effectively.
- Experience working with children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or complex trauma such as PTSD is preferred.
- Telehealth experience is desirable to facilitate remote patient consultations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to psychiatric practice and proficiency in collecting comprehensive clinical data.
