Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment across diverse populations, including pediatric, geriatric, inpatient, and outpatient settings. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health care utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities and medication management strategies. The Psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients of all ages, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and crisis management techniques.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, including intake assessments, medication management, and ongoing patient monitoring.
- Manage complex cases such as PTSD, addiction issues, behavioral health disorders, and mental health crises.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity across settings.
- Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards and ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to extend mental health services when appropriate.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychiatry with a focus on pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or behavioral health preferred.
- Strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology, crisis management, and psychotherapy techniques.
- Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring inpatient or outpatient psychiatric care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, data collection, intake procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging patients across diverse populations and managing sensitive situations such as PTSD care or addiction counseling.
- Telehealth experience is a plus for providing flexible patient access to mental health services.
- Post-residency experience demonstrating clinical competence in mental health counseling and patient assessment is preferred. Pay: $250.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 8.0 per week
