Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist Consultant to provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health conditions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to direct patient care, the consultant will provide clinical guidance to junior medical staff and contribute to mental health program development, research, and policy initiatives.
Responsibilities
- 1. To perform the professional duties of Psychiatrist consultant in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended by the CMO and approved by the Credentials and Privileging Committee
- 2. Provide regularly scheduled caseload consultation. Case review consultations focus primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan.
- 4. Advises on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care, supporting treatment in the medical setting until patients can be engaged in specialized care as appropriate.
- 5. To perform his duties in the psychiatry clinic evaluating patients and analyzing their mental health status and providing the necessary treatment
- 6. Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress
- 7. To provide care to patients in the intermediate care unit and other wards.
- 8. To provide consultation services to the inpatients in his area of expertise.
- 9. Educate patients and their families according to patients' condition.
- 10. To share in the on-call duties of the psychiatry department. Provides after working hours on call emergency coverage for emergencies
- 11. Participates in the staff meeting of the department
- 12. Participates and contributes to the educational activities in the Center.
- 13. Participates and contributes to all the quality management activities of the center (e.g. monthly mortality and morbidity meeting, peer review activities, audit and chart review, etc).
- 14. Performs additional duties as assigned by the CMO
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 1. Board certification or equivalent in psychiatry from an accredited institution.
- 2. Licensed by SCFHS as a consultant
- 3. 5 years experience in the field of psychiatry medicine after board or doctoral degree
- 4. Hospital experience as psychiatry consultant
