Psychiatrist Medical Director/Supervision

We are seeking an experienced and patient-centered Psychiatrist to serve as a Medical Director and Supervising Physician within our growing behavioral health organization. This leadership role combines direct patient care with clinical oversight responsibilities across outpatient psychiatric services.

The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, clinical leadership, and supervision of advanced practice providers while supporting operational excellence and quality patient outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to help shape behavioral healthcare delivery across a collaborative and rapidly growing organization focused on accessible, evidence-based mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults
  • Deliver outpatient psychiatric care including medication management and follow-up services
  • Supervise and collaborate with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource for providers, therapists, and support staff
  • Ensure high standards of patient care, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance across psychiatric services
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Review documentation and clinical practices to ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and evidence-based standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, psychologists, care coordinators, and administrative leadership
  • Support provider onboarding, mentorship, and clinical development initiatives
  • Participate in strategic planning and growth initiatives for outpatient behavioral health services
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems for documentation, prescribing, and clinical communication
  • Assist with utilization review, treatment planning discussions, and coordination of care when needed

Qualifications

  • Active MD or DO license in the State of Missouri
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active DEA license and unrestricted prescribing authority
  • Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants preferred
  • Strong background in outpatient psychiatry and medication management
  • Experience with telepsychiatry and collaborative care models preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, HIPAA regulations, and behavioral health best practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Experience using EMR systems such as AdvanceMD or similar platforms preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health environment
