What You’ll Do
Medical and Psychiatric Assessment & Medication Management
· Conduct comprehensive History and Physical examinations, psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
· Diagnose and treat mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders at the detoxification and residential level of care.
· Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
· Monitor medication efficacy, side effects, interactions, and safety.
Integrated, Team-Based Care
· Collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, technicians, and operations staff to ensure coordinated care.
· Provide clinical oversight and supervision to Psychiatric NP’s, nurses, and other medical staff members,
· Participate in clinical rounds, case consultations, and treatment planning discussions.
· Serve as a clinical resource to the treatment team regarding medical and psychiatric symptoms, medications, and risk management.
Safety, Risk & Clinical Judgment
· Support suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention, and stabilization planning.
· Respond to urgent psychiatric concerns with clarity and sound judgment.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain timely, accurate psychiatric documentation in accordance with DHCS, Joint Commission, and Terra standards.
· Ensure prescribing practices comply with scope of practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Clinical Excellence & Program Development
· Contribute to the development and refinement of psychiatric protocols, medication guidelines, and standards of care.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical reviews.
· Support a culture of learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
· ABPN Board-Certified MD Psychiatrist with active, unrestricted CA medical license
· Board certified with ABAM and member of ASAM (preferred)
· 1+ years of experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or multi-site healthcare organization
· Experience overseeing detoxification, substance use and mental health residential facilities
· DEA registration and furnishing number
· Strong diagnostic skills and commitment to evidence-based prescribing, comfort working with co-occurring disorders and complex clinical presentations

Pay: $150.00 - $210.00 per hour
