Psychiatrists

Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatry Physicians to join a collaborative and highly respected medical team. This is a long-term onsite contract opportunity in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment where patient safety and quality of care are top priorities.

You will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care while working alongside a dedicated group of medical professionals in a setting that follows nationally recognized standards of care. Multiple positions may be available, offering the opportunity to be part of a strong, team-oriented practice.

Location: Tuskegee, AL 36083
(Primary site with occasional coverage within the regional system as needed)

What You’ll Do

Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning
Manage admissions, discharges, transfers, and post-discharge follow-up care
Deliver emergency and on-call psychiatric coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays
Collaborate with interdisciplinary mental health teams and supervise health professions trainees as required
Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record in accordance with established clinical standards
Participate in peer reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and monthly prescriber meetings

What We’re Looking For

MD or DO with completed Psychiatry residency (ACGME accredited)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
Current DEA registration
BLS and ACLS certification
Strong clinical proficiency in managing severe mental illness, consults, inpatient psychiatric units, and outpatient mental health services
Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements

Schedule & Coverage

Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Approximately 6–6.5 bookable patient hours per day
Mix of 1-hour and 30-minute appointments
On-Call Coverage Required:
Weeknights: 4:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekends: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM
Holidays: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
On-call providers must be available by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 60 minutes if needed
