<Responsibilities>
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy, and other modalities such as botulinum toxin treatment or esthetic laser procedures when appropriate.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring safe administration and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Manage clinical documentation using EMR systems like Epic or Athenahealth, maintaining accurate medical records and coding diagnoses with ICD-10 or CPT codes.
- Provide patient education on mental health management, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and wellness strategies such as health coaching.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects related to behavioral health or acute pain management.
<Qualifications>
- Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification in psychiatry or behavioral health.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including children (working with children), geriatrics (geriatrics), or specialized populations such as assisted living residents or hospice patients.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management including injections (e.g., dermal fillers), IV infusion, and sedation techniques.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools such as ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems; CPT coding for procedures like spinal taps or catheterizations.
- Experience in acute care environments such as Level I/II trauma centers, emergency rooms (ER experience), ICU or PICU settings is advantageous.
- Skills in patient assessment, triage protocols, critical care nursing practices (including ventilator management), infection control procedures, and sterile processing techniques.
- Additional qualifications may include experience with neuropsychiatric treatments (e.g., dementia care), trauma-informed care approaches (including hospice & palliative medicine), or specialized skills like suturing or sonography.
