Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to diverse patient populations. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology and psychotherapy modalities.
- Administer medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and other psychotropic agents following best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Provide telehealth consultations utilizing EMR systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless patient care documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive behavioral health services.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication management, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards for billing purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nursing.
- Valid DEA Number
- Proven experience working with behavioral health populations across various settings such as hospitals, clinics, or assisted living facilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication administration protocols, and clinical research methodologies.
- Experience in crisis intervention, triage procedures, acute pain management, and working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding standards and CPT procedures related to psychiatric care.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Enrolled in CAQH and will be responsible for insurance credentialing and data management.
