Position: Psychological Counsellor
Department: Student Wellness / Counselling Cell
Reporting to: Principal / Head of School
Qualification Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Psychology
- Master’s Degree (MA) in Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology
- Valid RCI Registration Number (Rehabilitation Council of India) – Mandatory
Purpose of the Role
To provide behavioural counselling and emotional support to students, ensuring their mental well-being, behavioural development, and academic success in alignment with CBSE guidelines for school counselling services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counselling & Support
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students.
- Address emotional, behavioural, academic, and social concerns.
- Support students dealing with anxiety, stress, peer pressure, bullying, and adjustment issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical counselling practices.
2. Psychological Assessment
- Conduct psychological assessments and screenings where required.
- Identify students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
- Prepare case reports and intervention plans.
3. Preventive & Developmental Programs
- Organize workshops on life skills, stress management, career guidance, and mental health awareness.
- Conduct orientation programs for students on emotional well-being.
- Implement CBSE-recommended life skills and value education programs.
4. Parent & Teacher Collaboration
- Conduct parent counselling sessions when required.
- Guide teachers on classroom behaviour management strategies.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss student development.
5. Career Guidance
- Provide career counselling and aptitude guidance to senior students.
- Assist students in subject selection and career planning.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed and confidential counselling records.
- Submit periodic reports to the Principal.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE norms regarding student safety and mental health support.
7. Crisis Intervention
- Provide immediate psychological support during crisis situations.
- Coordinate with external professionals if specialized intervention is required.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience Required
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in school counselling preferred
- Experience in working with children and adolescents

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
