PT Aide, Outpatient Scranton Rehab (Call In)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the overall supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapy Aide gives assistance in treatment, patient care, and general departmental functions not requiring formalized training of Physical Therapy. Each PT Aide is assigned to a particular team within the Physical Therapy Department.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

No experience required.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

• Assists with patient transfers and patient treatment (under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist).
• Performs general clean-up and departmental maintenance according to infection control procedures.
• Supervises patients during treatment for motivational and safety reasons.
• Handles departmental linen supplies.
• Implements preventative maintenance plan.
• Assists PT Secretary and departmental management in clerical and phone duties as required.
• Transfers patients in and out of whirlpools and fills and cleans the whirlpools as required.
• Transports patients to and from therapy when required.
• Assists with coverage of other departmental aides in their absence.
