PT-Educator/Instructor

We currently have an opening for a part-time educator in the Carson and surrounding areas. Paraprofessionals, Behavioral Technicians (BT) or Instructional Assistants are welcome to apply. Specifically looking for a candidate comfortable with middle school age students and their general school age-appropriate subject material. A candidate with previous experience as a behavior technician is a plus.

Brock’s Academy is a Designer Education® program in which our educators travel to the students. They work in homes, in schools, or at our learning center located in Woodinville, WA. We provide premium one-on-one tutoring and private school instruction to children and young adults who are having a difficult time in traditional school settings. Our programs are custom designed to match each student’s learning style, interests, and academic needs.

An ideal candidate would have experience in special education, ABA therapy, and/or anxiety disorder. This person must be friendly, patient, fun, have a flexible approach to learning that integrates interests, be able to think outside the box and comfortable working with middle/high school-aged students. This individual must also be capable of working independently and willing to travel. We are looking for those comfortable working in client's homes.

Specific areas we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated strong experience with middle school age students.
  • Willingness to be adaptable and experiment.
  • Use a scientific approach to education/instruction.
  • Practice a strengths-based approach to instruction.

At Brock’s, we seek out educators who have a passion for teaching outside of the box. Our instructors are creative, flexible, and willing to follow the interests of their students. They make learning engaging and fun. Relationship building is key. A teaching certification is not required for this position, but candidates must be able to build and maintain rapport with children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain a genuine and positive relationship with the students, their families, and team members
  • Instruct the students in a 1:1 setting
  • Help the students with time and stress management
  • Maintain complete and accurate data and keeping records of sessions

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: 4-year degree (or equivalent) is required. A background in special education, psychology or social work is highly preferred. A teaching certification is not required for this position.
  • Skills: Ability to provide unique and individualized support and instruction based on the student’s learning needs.
  • Misc.: Reliable transportation.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience, qualifications, and location. This can vary based on factors such as experience, location, and the specific responsibilities of the role.

  • Monday to Friday, Day Shift required

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • Working with children: 1+ year (Required)
  • Special education (SPED): 1+ year (Highly Preferred)
