PT Licensed Associate Counselor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate PT Licensed Associate Counselor to join our dedicated mental health team. This is a Fee-to-Fee service practice and can offer Free Supervision for independent licensure. In this role, you will provide high-quality psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, manage crises, and achieve personal growth through evidence-based practices. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document patient conditions
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes
  • Provide specialized counseling for issues including PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction recovery, gender issues, chronic pain management, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs and medical documentation standards compliant with HIPAA regulations
  • Utilize telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services remotely while maintaining clinical quality and confidentiality
  • Engage in case management activities such as patient assessment, data collection for clinical research, and coordination of care across inpatient and outpatient settings

Experience

  • Valid Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) credential in New Jersey
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and social work practices
  • Hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation and billing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and crisis intervention training
  • Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms with an understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
