PT, Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Compass Proactive Health — Eugene, OR

About Compass Proactive Health

Compass Proactive Health is an integrative, whole-person clinic in Eugene, Oregon. Our team includes Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Health Coaching, and expanding services in Counseling and Primary Care.

We believe movement is a conversation — not a checklist. We believe prevention matters. We believe collaborative care creates better outcomes.

Our practitioners share patients, ideas, and treatment planning. We are building a proactive, connected model of care where each provider plays a vital role in long-term patient wellness.

We’re growing and seeking a Physical Therapist who is excited to practice in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Our Care Philosophy

At Compass Proactive Health, we believe people heal best when they feel understood, supported, and actively involved in their care.

Our model blends biomechanical expertise with whole-person, behavior-change-informed care. We recognize that pain, movement, recovery, and function are influenced by more than tissue mechanics alone. Stress, lifestyle, sleep, fear of movement, nervous system regulation, habits, relationships, and access to support all shape a person’s healing process.

We value clinicians who can meet patients with curiosity, respect, and compassion. We believe strong communication is a clinical skill. Our providers use patient education, collaborative goal setting, and behavior-change strategies — including Motivational Interviewing or a willingness to learn it — to help patients build confidence, ownership, and sustainable change.

We are not a high-volume, protocol-driven clinic. We are building an interdisciplinary care ecosystem where providers communicate, collaborate, and treat the whole person — not just the diagnosis.

Position Overview

We are looking for a licensed Physical Therapist who understands that lasting physical change requires more than exercises — it requires communication, trust, clinical reasoning, and nervous system awareness.

At Compass Proactive Health, Physical Therapists are movement specialists, educators, collaborators, and guides. You’ll work alongside acupuncturists, massage therapists, health coaches, and expanding behavioral health and primary care providers in an integrated care model focused on sustainable, long-term outcomes.

This role is ideal for a PT who values autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered care, and proactive health.

Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individualized, one-on-one physical therapy sessions
  • Develop treatment plans that address root causes — not just symptoms
  • Assess movement through a whole-person lens, including posture, joint mechanics, neuromuscular control, gait, breath, pain patterns, lifestyle, and patient goals
  • Educate patients on movement, mechanics, self-management, and long-term prevention
  • Use clear, compassionate communication to support patient understanding and engagement
  • Apply or learn Motivational Interviewing and other behavior-change communication strategies
  • Collaborate regularly with acupuncturists, massage therapists, PTAs, health coaches, and other providers
  • Participate in team communication, case collaboration, and shared care planning
  • Document care using Jane, our EHR
  • Work with our in-house administrative and billing team so you can focus on patient care

What We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Are licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Physical Therapist in Oregon
  • Value whole-person, proactive, patient-centered care
  • View pain and dysfunction through both a biomechanical and biopsychosocial lens
  • Understand that stress, nervous system regulation, habits, and lifestyle can influence recovery
  • Enjoy clinical reasoning beyond protocol-driven treatment
  • Communicate with clarity, empathy, and confidence
  • Use, or are excited to learn, Motivational Interviewing and behavior-change strategies
  • Are comfortable discussing patient goals, barriers to change, movement fears, habits, and long-term self-management
  • Value trauma-informed, patient-centered care
  • Appreciate both independence and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Believe education and patient empowerment are central to lasting outcomes
  • Are curious, growth-oriented, and open to evolving your practice within a team model

Experience or interest in approaches such as PRI, FRC, Anatomy Trains, functional movement systems, pain science, trauma-informed care, or other integrative models is welcome but not required.

What We Don’t Do

We believe how care is delivered matters just as much as the care itself. To support meaningful outcomes and a sustainable clinical environment, we intentionally avoid common high-volume practices such as:

  • Productivity quotas or “units per day” targets (no RVU or unit-based pressure)
  • Double-booking or overlapping patients as a standard model of care
  • Protocol-driven, one-size-fits-all treatment plans
  • Billing practices that prioritize volume over clinical need
  • Rushed visits that limit education, communication, or clinical reasoning
  • Performance metrics tied primarily to volume, billing, or visit counts

Instead, we prioritize one-on-one care, clinical autonomy, thoughtful documentation, and outcomes driven by patient understanding, engagement, and long-term change.

What We Offer

  • Collaborative, mission-driven team culture
  • Supportive, non-competitive work environment
  • Established referral network within the clinic
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • Administrative and billing support
  • One-on-one patient care model
  • Opportunities for professional growth as we expand
  • A clinic culture that values innovation, communication, and practitioner development
  • Competitive compensation, based on experience

Why Compass?

At Compass Proactive Health, you won’t be siloed. You’ll be part of a connected care ecosystem designed around collaboration — between providers, between disciplines, and between systems in the body.

We’re building something intentional, sustainable, and different from the standard outpatient model. If you want to help shape the future of proactive, collaborative healthcare in Eugene, we’d love to meet you.
