Position Summary

The Public Area House Attendant plays a key role in keeping the hotel’s public spaces spotless, inviting, and reflective of The Westman’s high standards. This position supports the housekeeping department by maintaining lobbies, corridors, restrooms, back-of-house areas, and assisting Room Attendants as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in creating a polished, welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all public spaces including lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, stairwells, and outdoor entry areas
• Ensure lobby bar and parlor seating areas remain tidy throughout the day
• Refresh and restock public restrooms and common-area amenities
• Empty trash and recycling in public and back-of-house areas
• Respond to housekeeping or front-desk requests for assistance (deliver linens, supplies, amenities, etc.)
• Support Room Attendants by transporting linens, removing trash, and maintaining supply closets
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
• Uphold cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
• Maintain equipment and carts in clean, organized condition
• Provide warm, approachable guest service consistent with The Westman’s values

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining beautiful spaces
• Ability to work independently and stay organized during busy shifts
• Comfortable working on feet for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs
• Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing priorities
• Warm, positive communication style and commitment to guest service

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Hourly rate: $21–$24/hour, depending on experience
• Opportunity to grow with an independently owned boutique property
