Public Areas Attendant

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lodge at Bodega Bay is seeking a Full-Time Public Area Attendant to join our outstanding team.

Our Public Area Attendants take great pride in keeping our property clean and guest ready. They maintain all the public areas and restrooms, ensuring the hotel's high standards of quality and cleanliness are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Thoroughly cleans all public restrooms to include sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tile, counters walls, stalls vents and floors with cleaning agents.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times.
  • Restocks the public restroom with all supplies.
  • Cleans pool area, cleans and restocks fitness center with towels and cleans the guest laundry room.
  • Thoroughly dusts all furniture, pictures and shelves in all public areas.
  • Cleans ashtrays in driveway.
  • Cleans and polishes all brass and woodwork throughout the hotel.
  • Cleans stairwells, mirrors and railings.
  • Completes any projects assigned by the supervisor,
  • Empties all wastebaskets in all public areas and discards any additional trash throughout the hotel.
  • Cleans the lobby area and other office areas.
  • Turn in all found items to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Reports all items that need repair to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must have valid California Drivers license with clean driving record
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Able to learn and apply Hazardous Chemical training standards.

· Very detail oriented, to ensure the quality of cleanliness.

· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form.

· Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.

· Able to maintain a good working relationship with other departments, associates and guests.

· Meets legal age requirements for the position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous housekeeping experience is preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

California Drivers License.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel and crouch. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must be able to push and pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

GROOMING

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available.)

PAY SCALE

The pay scale for this position is $21 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education
