What you will be doing:
Are you passionate about community health and ready to make a difference? Public Health Nurses (PHNs) play a vital role in promoting wellness and protecting Alaska communities, such as:

• Health screenings and preventive care
• Infectious disease monitoring and treatment
• Community health assessments and improvement initiatives

As a Public Health Nurse 3, you’ll bring expert-level care, contribute to quality improvement efforts, and travel periodically to outlying communities to deliver care where it’s needed most.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is in the beautiful island community of Sitka in Southeast Alaska. Accessible only by air or sea, Sitka is in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Outdoor opportunities include wildlife viewing, fishing, hiking, and boating abound. The Public Health Center has ample parking and is conveniently located near a shopping center.

Special Notice:

• Valid Alaska Registered Nursing License is required at time of employment, per Alaska Nurse Practice Act: Nursing Statutes AS 08.68, Nursing Regulations 12 AAC 44
• Valid Driver’s License at time of employment is required
• CPR Certification is also required
• This position requires occasional travel to remote areas of Alaska via boat or small aircraft.

Pay Range: $4,158.75 bi-weekly Work Location: Sitka, Alaska

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $108,127.50 per year
