Tie-In is a next-generation philanthropic social media platform that transforms social influence into social impact. Our platform is built around taking celebrity moments, culture, and content creation and turning the attention that comes from it into meaningful outcomes for charities across the world. We’re building a PR engine that can cut through the noise with stories that people actually want to share and that need to be heard.

The Opportunity

This is a structured, hands-on apprenticeship that provides expert-level mentorship from seasoned veterans of celebrity media and hands-on experience from week one. We're giving the opportunity for an early-career PR writer who lives and breathes celebrity culture but also has a deep care for humanity and creating social good. You'll work directly alongside our senior leadership and communications team to receive real publicist mentorship on how to craft the most compelling narratives, position stories in the media, write headlines that make audiences feel, and build PR with an active celebrity and nonprofit network. and Tie-In is offering a position that provides expert-level mentorship and hands-on experience for an early-career PR writer who lives in celebrity culture but also cares deeply about humanity and creating social good. With Tie-In, you’ll work closely with our senior leadership and be coached on real publicist thinking: how to craft the most appealing narrative, position stories in the media, write headlines that inspire, and build PR with our celebrity network.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to create media pitches and press releases that earn inspiration and attention
  • The mechanics of celebrity x charity storytelling and how to build a narrative arc that can connect with youth audiences
  • How professional PR teams build story hooks tied to cultural moments and strategic partnerships
  • Media list building, briefing document creation, and the fundamentals of earned media outreach
  • How to track and report narrative performance to iterate on PR strategy
  • The language of a Selfless Social brand voice, and how to stay consistent across pitches, announcements, and partner highlights

What You’ll Do

  • Write and edit PR materials, including pitches, press releases, celebrity x charity narratives, partner spotlights, and newsworthy announcements
  • Help shape Tie-In’s brand voice by integrating it within selfless storytelling
  • Build pitch angles and story hooks tied to Tie-In’s cultural moments and partnerships
  • Support outreach to prospective partners by creating media lists and briefing documents
  • Track and report Tie-In’s narrative performance to help guide PR strategy
  • Work with an experienced team to brainstorm PR and communications strategies with

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong writing portfolio, whether it be student work, blog writing, class projects, or internship samples, all materials are welcome
  • Rich, genuine understanding of how celebrity culture has and continues to evolve from the lens of Gen Z
  • Someone who can tell the difference between content that feels authentic and content that lands as "cringe", with a clear explanation as to why
  • A proactive communicator confident and comfortable sharing their perspective in group settings
  • A startup mindset: self-directed, accountable, and motivated by growth over comfort
  • Prior experience in a PR, journalism, communications, or content role is preferred but not required

Apprenticeship Structure

This is a rolling 6-month apprenticeship with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and company growth milestones.

  • Month 1 - Orientation and Foundation: Immersion in our brand, voice, platform vision, and celebrity x nonprofit partnership ecosystem
  • Month 2 - Active Production: Ownership of assigned PR deliverables with structured mentorship reviews
  • Month 3 - Independent Execution: Lead a defined PR initiative end-to-end with senior guidance, with portfolio review and performance evaluation

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
