The Public Relations Manager, Global Regions will provide PR support to seven of Virtuoso’s key global regions: Australia/New Zealand, Continental Europe, Greater China, Latin America & the Caribbean, Middle East & Africa, North & South East Asia, and United Kingdom/Ireland. The position calls for an individual who will be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders around the world, in-market PR agencies, Virtuoso members/advisors and consumer and trade media to help tell the Virtuoso story.
As part of the Global Public Relations team, this position will be responsible for coordinating with Regional Marketing Directors and Managers to support each market’s PR goals of furthering the Virtuoso brand within the region and generating both regional and global press coverage. Focus will be on executing Virtuoso’s market-specific press strategy; garnering exposure for Virtuoso global and regional events; overseeing consumer and trade media relations; drafting releases, pitches and announcements; fielding press inquiries and interview requests; lining up interview sources; facilitating arrangements and registration for global media attending Virtuoso Travel Week, Virtuoso Symposium, various press events and other company functions; and creating and maintaining market-specific media lists and press materials. By facilitating PR functions and day-to-day operations, the Public Relations Manager, Global Regions will deliver against the corporate objectives of increasing awareness and desirability of the Virtuoso brand and network within the luxury travel industry.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with Vice President, Global Public Relations to facilitate the company’s public relations strategy for each region.

Provide PR support to Regional Marketing Directors and Managers.

Manage Virtuoso’s relationships with consumer and trade media outlets.

Facilitate interview requests by coordinating with Regional Marketing Directors and Managers (as needed) and Virtuoso advisors.

Serves as the liaison between Global PR, PR agencies and Regional Marketing Directors and Managers to ensure alignment on the PR strategy and initiatives in market.

Support PR agency requests for expert sources, image requests and promotional offers.

Create and maintain regional press lists.

Work cross-functionally with other teams to create communications documents for initiatives that help position the company within the media and in the industry.

Additional copywriting, including press documents, marketing collateral, executive correspondence, PowerPoint presentations and surveys.

Facilitate language translations of press materials within each region.

Research media outlets and opportunities to seek out new potential outlets for coverage.

Monitor competitive press coverage and draft executive summaries.

Assist with regional awards process and publicity as needed.

Support various marketing division projects as assigned.
Educational and Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations or related field, or 2-4 years of public relations, communications or marketing experience in lieu of degree

2 years of recent public relations work experience

Experience writing, editing and proofing marketing and/or press materials a must

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Experience with global markets desired

Fluency in a second language other than English a plus

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a deadline driven environment

Must be detail and service-oriented, with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects

Proficiency in MSWord, PowerPoint, MSExcel, Adobe and Outlook all mandatory

Experience with media database and monitoring systems required

Work history reflecting a strong commitment to teamwork
Travel Requirements:

Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (1-3 trips per year).

Travel will be primarily domestic, but may include some international.
Type/Nature of Contacts:

External: Frequent contact with PR professionals, consumer and trade editors, freelance writers, senior executives of marketing partners and alliance companies, and vendors. Daily communication with Virtuoso member agency owners, managers and advisors. Contact with sales, marketing and communications executives of Virtuoso preferred suppliers, as well as their PR agencies, as appropriate.
