Salary Range: $18.54 to $28.15

Telecommunicator Trainees start at $18.54 an hour while receiving paid training. After completion of training, typically in about 12-14 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to promote to Telecommunicator 1 starting at $19.57 an hour. With future promotions, the top step salary for Telecommunicator 3 is $28.15.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining efficient communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various transportation management systems to optimize routes and manage fleet operations effectively. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, ensuring timely dispatch of freight.
  • Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Manage transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
  • Analyze data related to supply chain logistics to enhance operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate records through data entry and manage shipping & receiving processes.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers using multi-line phone systems, ensuring clarity in instructions.
  • Monitor fleet management activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide exceptional phone etiquette while interacting with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning, supply chain processes, and freight operations.
  • Proficiency in analysis skills to assess performance metrics and identify improvement areas.
  • Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on effective phone etiquette.
  • Ability to type efficiently for data entry tasks.
  • Knowledge of AS400 systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
