Minimum
Qualification:
High school diploma/GED, and one (1) year of work experience in law enforcement, corrections, firefighting, EMS, or rescue service, one (1) year of which is involved in providing training applicable to the area of assignment as an adjunct instructor or as a field training officer on special assignment. Must be eligible to obtain Georgia P.O.S.T. General Instructor certification under applicable profession and any required Georgia P.O.S.T. specialty instructor certifications.

Note:
The Public Safety Trainer 1 (PST1) assigned to Dodge SP is responsible for planning and delivering all In-Service Training, Firearms Training, and Pre-Service Orientation for designated facilities. In addition, the PST1 provides training support to neighboring facilities as needed and serves as instructor for regional courses.
The position will require the following POST certifications within the first 18 months of employment: Instructor training, Firearms instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, POST Emergency Medical Certification. You will be required to complete a performance evaluation to include the following prior to an interview: Physical Ability Test, Firearms Proficiency, and instructor presentation. Position can be hired at a PST1 or PST2 based upon experience.
