Public Works Laborer

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LABORER – The Borough of Harvey Cedars, Ocean County is seeking a full-time public works employee.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public Works or the Director’s designee, the laborer performs skilled and semiskilled work involved in water, sewer, park, playground, beach, maintenance and construction.

Duties require physical exertion, manual dexterity/ability, routine use of hand and power tools, the operation of motor vehicles, trucks, mowers, and other complex power equipment; and other related work as required. Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

Employee will be required to work on an emergency basis when needed.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position is required.

Any additional licenses or credentials held by the applicant will be considered, such as, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, water and sewer.

Starting salary is $40,000 per year.
