Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pulmonary Nurse, Registered Nurse (RN), to provide specialized respiratory and patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting (or a licensed RT). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in critical care, long-term care, or hospital environments, with a strong background in pulmonary and respiratory management, and can provide specialized nursing care to residents with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This role involves administering pulmonary treatments, monitoring respiratory health, educating patients and families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal pulmonary care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct pulmonary-focused nursing care, including administering medications, breathing treatments, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed pulmonary interventions.

  • Monitor and assess residents' respiratory status, including oxygen levels, lung sounds, and overall pulmonary function.

  • Perform and manage pulmonary care procedures such as chest physiotherapy, oxygen management, and airway clearance techniques.

  • Educate residents, families, and facility staff on respiratory health, disease management, and preventive strategies to optimize outcomes.

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and resident progress per regulatory standards.

  • Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, especially concerning pulmonary illnesses and treatments.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pulmonary nursing and implement best practices in respiratory care.
Requirements:
  • Must hold a current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for managing respiratory conditions.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Experience in pulmonary care in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
