Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Synergy Medical Group provides comprehensive, patient-centered specialty care across multiple disciplines. Our Pulmonary division is expanding across Virginia, and we are seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Pulmonary APP) to join our growing team.

Position Overview:
The Pulmonary APP plays an essential role in delivering high-quality respiratory and critical-care-related services across skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics. This role includes assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, emphasizing continuity of care and patient education.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive pulmonary evaluations and targeted respiratory assessments
  • Diagnose and manage conditions including COPD, asthma, chronic respiratory failure, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep-related disorders
  • Order and interpret relevant diagnostic tests (CXR, CT, PFTs, ABGs, labs)
  • Monitor patients on oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and chronic respiratory support
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff
  • Develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and evidence-based guidelines
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management and prevention
  • Document encounters accurately and timely in the EMR

Qualifications:

  • Licensed NP or PA in Virginia
  • Board Certified FNP, AGNP, ACNP, or PA-C
  • Pulmonary, critical care, or internal medicine experience preferred (ICU, step-down, or pulmonary clinic experience highly desirable)
  • DEA license or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
  • Dedication to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration

Compensation:

  • 1099 contractor role
  • Fee-for-service structure with competitive rates
  • Flexible scheduling and autonomy
