- Strategy & Policy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, select, and build relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and monitoring performance.
- Cost Control: Analyze costs, identify savings, manage budgets, and secure favorable pricing.
- Operations: Oversee purchase orders, track inventory, schedule deliveries, and ensure quality.
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage purchasing agents and staff.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments (finance, operations, logistics) to meet procurement needs.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, staying updated on market trends.
