Ltd. – Manufacturer of industrial power transmission products and components.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator / Buyer to support our procurement operations. This is an entry-level role (1–2 years experience) focused on executing purchases based on indents raised by the planning team, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely material availability for production.The role requires strong follow-up skills, basic commercial understanding, and comfort working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Execution
- Process purchase indents received from the planning / production team
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved suppliers and pricing
- Ensure correct quantities, specifications, delivery dates, and terms in POs
Supplier Coordination
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials
- Coordinate with suppliers on dispatch schedules, delays, and shortages
- Track order status and proactively highlight risks to planning and stores teams
Material & Documentation Management
- Coordinate with stores for material receipt confirmation
- Ensure timely collection of invoices, delivery challans, and supporting documents
- Support GRN closure and resolve discrepancies related to quantity, rate, or quality
ERP & Data Management
- Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system
- Update supplier lead times, delivery commitments, and order status
- Support basic reporting related to pending POs, delayed supplies, and vendor performance
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with planning, production, quality, and stores teams
- Escalate material shortages or delivery risks impacting production schedules
Preferred Material Exposure (Added Advantage)
- Castings (CI / SG Iron / Steel)
- Forgings
- Machined components
- Rubber / elastomer or standard bought-out industrial items
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience
- 1 to 2 years experience in purchasing / procurement / supply chain role
- Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of purchase process and supplier follow-ups
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SourcePro, SAP, Oracle, or similar – preferred)
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and strong follow-up capability
- Proficient in MS Excel and basic documentation
