Job Summary:

The Purchase Engineer / Executive will be responsible for the strategic procurement of materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing of vacuum pumps and systems. The role involves vendor management, cost control, timely procurement, and coordination with engineering, production, and quality departments to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy:

Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cost reduction, supplier quality, and lead-time optimization.

  • Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for components like castings, machined parts, motors, gaskets, valves, etc., used in vacuum systems.

  • Material Planning:

Work with production and planning teams to forecast material requirements based on sales and inventory levels.

  • Cost Control:

Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve the best commercial terms while maintaining quality standards.

  • Inventory Management:

Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to avoid stock-outs or overstocking, using ERP/MRP systems.

  • Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure incoming materials meet required technical specifications and quality standards.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain proper documentation for purchase orders, contracts, delivery schedules, and vendor evaluations. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company procurement policies.

  • Logistics Coordination:

Coordinate with transporters and logistics providers for timely delivery of goods and materials.

  • Market Research:

Stay updated on market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and alternate sourcing options.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery components and raw materials
  • Strong negotiation and vendor development skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Technical understanding of engineering drawings/specifications
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • MBA in Supply Chain Management / Materials Management (Preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
