A Purchase Mechanical Engineer Job Description Job Summary A Purchase Mechanical Engineer is

responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring mechanical equipment, components, and

materials required for engineering projects or manufacturing operations. The role ensures costeffective

purchasing while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and procure mechanical components, equipment, and raw materials.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs before purchasing.
  • Coordinate with design, production, and project teams to understand material requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate contracts.
  • Ensure materials meet technical and quality standards.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement documentation.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain approved vendor lists.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering & Diploma Mechanical Engineer.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mechanical procurement or supply chain.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Understanding of quality control standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
