Position Overview
The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods, materials, and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. The role ensures timely availability of required items to support smooth business operations and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and develop new sources of supply.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Negotiation & Cost Control
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors.
- Ensure cost savings without compromising on quality.
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing.
- Inventory & Material Management
- Coordinate with stores and production teams to understand requirements.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Track and follow up on pending orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare reports on purchase activities, cost analysis, and supplier performance.
- Coordination & Support
- Work closely with finance, production, and quality teams to align procurement with organizational goals.
- Assist in vendor audits and quality inspections as required.
- Resolve any issues related to defective or delayed materials.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (SAP / Odoo / Tally preferred).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchase (preferably in manufacturing/engineering industry).
- Knowledge of vendor management and sourcing strategies.
