Core responsibilities
- Order and delivery management: Process purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Vendor relations: Communicate with vendors, negotiate prices and terms, and maintain positive relationships.
- Inventory control: Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Record keeping: Maintain and update purchasing records, vendor information, and purchase agreements.
- Market research: Research vendors and market trends to identify potential suppliers and find the best prices and quality.
- Administrative support: Perform administrative duties to support the purchasing team, such as preparing reports and handling documentation.
- Quality assurance: Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure received products meet quality standards.
- Required skills and qualifications
- Computer proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are essential.
- Organizational skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail is crucial.
- Communication and negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills are needed to work with vendors and internal departments.
- Problem-solving: Ability to resolve issues related to incorrect or delayed shipments.
