Key Responsibilities
- Procure construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, electrical, plumbing, finishing materials, and equipment as per project requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up for timely delivery at site.
- Coordinate with site engineers, stores, and accounts teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure materials meet approved quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor data, rate contracts, and MIS reports.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Handle material discrepancies, returns, and claims with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Support audits by maintaining accurate documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant purchasing experience in the construction industry
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and vendors.
- Negotiation and cost-control skills.
- Vendor management and sourcing expertise.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP / procurement software.
- MS Excel and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in real estate, infrastructure, or contracting companies
Knowledge of local and regional supplier markets
