A Purchase Executive in the pharmaceutical industry sources, negotiates with, and manages pharmaceutical vendors and suppliers to procure raw materials, packaging, and finished products, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining optimal inventory, and negotiating favorable terms to support efficient operations and cost management. Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable pharmaceutical vendors for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, maintaining strong relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Procurement Operations: Process purchase orders and agreements, track orders, and coordinate deliveries with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient procurement.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to meet demand, prevent stockouts, and optimize stock to avoid overstocking.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities and purchased materials adhere to relevant pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards.
- Cost & Market Analysis: Conduct market research, analyze pricing trends, and implement cost reduction initiatives to optimize procurement spending.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and generate relevant management information system (MIS) reports.
- Internal Collaboration: Liaise with production, quality, and finance departments to align procurement activities with company goals and ensure smooth operations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Pharma Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, brands, and their supply chain.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers for pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with regulatory compliance norms in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP/inventory management software.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
