Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Procurement / Supply Chain to manage vendor development and import sourcing activities, particularly for New Product Development (NPD) projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding, global sourcing exposure, and the ability to align procurement strategies with development timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Development:
- Identify, assess, and develop new suppliers (domestic and international) for direct and indirect materials.
- Build a reliable vendor base to support current and future business needs.
- Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and commercial evaluations.
2. Import Sourcing:
- Source critical components and raw materials from overseas suppliers (e.g., China, Europe, Southeast Asia, etc.).
- Handle end-to-end import procurement including RFQs, negotiation, PO issuance, INCOTERMS, LC coordination, and shipment follow-ups.
- Work with CHA/logistics partners to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
3. Support for New Product Development (NPD):
- Collaborate with R&D, Design, and Quality teams to understand technical requirements of new parts/components.
- Identify suitable suppliers for prototype and pre-series sourcing (local and global).
- Ensure timely delivery of samples, tooling, and trial materials to meet project milestones.
- Track NPD BOM requirements and establish commercial terms with suppliers.
4. Cost Optimization & Supply Assurance:
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through localization, alternate sourcing, and negotiation.
- Monitor price trends, material cost movements, and currency impacts.
- Ensure on-time availability of materials for trials and production without compromising quality.
5. System & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and updated procurement records in ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, documentation, and company policies.
- Coordinate with finance and logistics teams for payment processing and inbound planning.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of vendor development and import sourcing
- Familiarity with NPD timelines, engineering BOMs, and part approval processes
- Good understanding of INCOTERMS, international trade rules, and import documentation
- Negotiation and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong coordination, planning, and follow-up skills
Qualifications:
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industries with NPD sourcing and import exposure

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
