A purchase manager in a transformer company manages the strategic procurement of materials like copper, aluminum, and transformer oil by developing purchasing strategies, identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components for manufacturing transformers. Key responsibilities include collaborating with production and engineering teams, monitoring market trends, ensuring budget adherence, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to achieve cost optimization and support production schedules. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute purchasing strategies to identify and secure the best suppliers for transformer components such as copper, aluminum, and insulation materials.
  • Supplier Management: Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost, and manage ongoing relationships by assessing performance and resolving issues.
  • Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including production and engineering, to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with manufacturing schedules and product development goals.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Inventory & Budget Control: Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement budgets to ensure efficient stock management and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and technical specifications for transformer manufacturing.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the transformer industry.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field is common.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills are essential for securing favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to track functional metrics, analyze expenditures, and monitor performance to drive cost reductions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with raw materials and components specific to transformer manufacturing, such as copper, aluminum, and transformer oil.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹17,661.59 - ₹35,000.00 per month
