Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to handle procurement and vendor management for our heating element manufacturing unit. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely availability of components required for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with production schedules.
- Source and procure raw materials, electrical components, SS tubes, MGO powder, terminals, ceramic parts, etc.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate price, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) and track material delivery status.
- Coordinate with the production and stores departments for material requirements and stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Monitor inventory control and avoid overstocking or material shortages.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards for purchased items.
- Prepare and analyze monthly purchase reports and cost comparisons.
- Handle vendor payments in coordination with the accounts department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchase or procurement (manufacturing industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of heating element materials, electrical components, and industrial suppliers.
- Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple vendors.
