Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement and supply chain operations of Kreamz Confectionery Pvt. Ltd., ensuring cost-effective purchasing, quality sourcing, and efficient vendor and inventory management across all confectionery units. The role demands a deep understanding of food-grade procurement, FMCG supply dynamics, and the ability to maintain high product quality standards while optimizing costs and minimizing wastage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective purchase of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and other production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to achieve savings while maintaining the required product standards.
- Collaborate closely with the production, quality, and finance teams to forecast purchase requirements and streamline the procurement process.
- Monitor and control inventory levels across all confectionery units to prevent overstocking and reduce wastage.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Ensure all procured materials comply with food safety and quality standards (FSSAI, HACCP, etc.).
- Track market trends, analyze price fluctuations, and identify new or alternative suppliers for cost and quality improvements.
- Implement and oversee wastage control measures to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment cycles and vendor reconciliations.
- Regularly analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management in the confectionery, bakery, or food manufacturing industry.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience in handling food-grade materials, packaging supplies, and perishables.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and other procurement software/tools.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate cross-departmental functions (Production, QA, Finance, Logistics).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Food Technology (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in procurement or purchase management within the confectionery, bakery, or FMCG food sector.
- Proven experience in vendor development, cost control, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards.
