Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical components, equipment, and materials required for company operations. The role ensures timely procurement at the best quality and cost, along with vendor management and inventory coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable vendors/suppliers for electrical materials and components.
- Create purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and ensure timely supply of materials.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and contracts.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier data, and documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and stores departments to forecast material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores for stock optimization.
- Conduct market research for new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delays, or discrepancies.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure long-term supply reliability.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials, components, and equipment.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Understanding of purchase processes and supply chain management.
- Ability to evaluate vendor quotations technically and commercially.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (preferred).
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 3–4 years of experience in procurement/purchase (Electrical domain preferred).
- Experience working with manufacturing, engineering, or electrical companies.
- Ability to handle multiple vendors and volume-based purchasing.
