The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of goods and services required for the organization’s operations. This role ensures that all purchasing activities are cost-effective, timely, and aligned with company standards and policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, deep knowledge of supply chain management, and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality, price, and delivery terms.
- Maintain and update the approved vendor list and supplier database.
- Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with finance, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of materials.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supplier performance.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, cost analyses, and budget forecasts.
- Resolve vendor disputes and manage supplier performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to legal and ethical purchasing standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum [5–8] years of experience in procurement or purchasing management.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, and inventory control principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and MS Office Suite.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
