Purchase Manager
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Purchase Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, vendor
management, and contract negotiation, along with the ability to lead a team
effectively and ensure cost-efficient purchasing without compromising quality or
timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers offering quality materials at competitive prices.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely supply of materials and services.
- Conduct periodic reviews of vendor performance relating to cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
Purchase Process Management:
- Execute and oversee the complete purchasing cycle from enquiry to delivery.
- Prepare and analyze comparative statements for all quotations received.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts to secure the most favorable outcomes for the company.
Cost & Budget Control:
- Monitor procurement expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives based on market trends and price fluctuations.
Coordination & Documentation:
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast requirements and resolve supply-related challenges.
- Ensure all purchase orders (POs) and related documents are maintained accurately and systematically.
- Coordinate with Finance/Accounts for all payment follow-ups, banking requirements, and vendor settlements.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the procurement team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Set clear goals, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor team performance.
- Encourage accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Provide training and guidance to enhance team members’ skills in procurement processes and negotiation.
- Promote a positive, disciplined, and professional work culture.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement or purchase function (EPC/engineering industry preferred).
- Degree in any discipline. B.Tech is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, procurement tools, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
Salary: ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 per month
