We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager (Imports) to manage end-to-end procurement of imported materials. The role involves vendor management, negotiation, import documentation, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle procurement of imported raw materials / components / finished goods.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage overseas suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, payment terms, and contracts.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
- Track shipments and ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs, and company policies.
- Coordinate with internal teams (production, planning, accounts, stores).
- Maintain purchase records, MIS, and cost analysis reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, or relevant field.
- 5–10 years of experience in import purchasing/procurement.
- Strong knowledge of import procedures, INCOTERMS, customs clearance, and logistics.
- Experience in handling international suppliers (China, Taiwan, Europe, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments.
