Purchase Manager Mechanical

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement and purchase activities for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components.
• Source and evaluate vendors (domestic & international) with a focus on Defence/Aerospace quality standards.
• Handle imports, exports, customs clearance, and logistics processes.
• Prepare and review RFQs, purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Defence procurement standards, offset obligations, and regulations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align procurement with project needs.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct supplier evaluations.
• Track inventory requirements and coordinate with stores for timely replenishment.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and process improvements in procurement.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• Experience: 4–6 years of procurement/purchase experience in Defence, Aerospace, or Electronics manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of imports, exports, logistics, and vendor management.
• Hands-on experience in global sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Familiarity with Defence PSUs (BEL, HAL, DRDO vendors, OEM suppliers) is an advantage.
• Strong communication, analytical, and team-handling exposure preferred.
• ERP systems / SAP knowledge will be an added advantage.
