Purchase Manager - Retail

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to oversee procurement, vendor management, and inventory planning for our multi-category retail business. The business deals in vessels, plastics, home essentials, small appliances, and furniture.

The ideal candidate will ensure timely stock availability, negotiate favorable supplier terms, maintain healthy profit margins, and effectively control inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute purchase strategies based on sales trends, demand forecasts, and stock levels.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing, schemes, discounts, and credit terms.
• Monitor stock availability, ageing inventory, and slow-moving products.
• Coordinate with warehouse, store operations, and accounts teams for smooth order processing and delivery tracking.
• Track and analyze margins, purchase costs, and vendor performance.
• Prepare and maintain reports on purchases, inventory movement, and stock analysis.
• Ensure optimal stock levels to avoid overstocking or stock-outs.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience in retail purchasing or procurement.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of inventory control, stock planning, and margin management.
• Proficiency in basic Excel and reporting tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Experience in multi-category retail (household items, small appliances, plastics, vessels, or furniture).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
