Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute strategic purchasing plans for furniture and related components.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Work closely with design, production, and logistics teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain and analyze purchasing data to track trends, forecast demands, and optimize inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal regulations.
- Manage procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and risk assessments.
- Handle issues related to defective materials, delivery delays, or supplier disputes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the furniture or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of furniture materials (wood, fabric, metal, etc.), fittings, and supply chain dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with international sourcing and import/export regulations.
- Understanding of sustainable and eco-friendly materials.
- Experience with just-in-time (JIT) and lean inventory practices.
