The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, fittings, and hardware required for interior design projects and hardware operations. This role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong vendor relationships and controlling costs.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor Management
- Source and purchase interior materials such as wood, laminates, plywood, MDF, veneers, fittings, fixtures, hardware, lighting, sanitaryware, and accessories
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts
- Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Coordinate with stores/warehouse teams for material planning
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing aligned with project budgets
- Analyze market trends and price fluctuations in hardware and interior materials
Project Coordination
- Work closely with design, site, and project management teams to understand material specifications and timelines
- Ensure timely procurement for ongoing and upcoming interior projects
- Resolve supply issues, delays, or quality concerns at project sites
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all purchased materials meet required quality standards and specifications
- Verify material samples, approvals, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare purchase orders, vendor comparisons, and cost reports
- Maintain accurate procurement records and invoices
- Provide regular reports on purchases, savings, and supplier performance
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Interior Design, or related field
Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in purchasing/procurement
- Proven experience in interior design, construction, hardware, or building materials industry
Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of interior materials and hardware products
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and procurement software
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
