Purchase Officer (Fruit – Vegetable)

Job Summary.

The Purchase Officer (Fruits & Vegetables) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables from reliable suppliers. The role ensures consistent quality, timely availability, and cost-effectiveness in line with company standards for catering and hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and manage relationships with suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables.
• As & when required visits of regional offices and F&V markets.
• Monitor market trends, weather patterns, and seasonal availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms with vendors to ensure profitability and timely supply.
• Daily checks on received products and handle any issues related to quality or compliance.
• Work closely with warehouse & logistics teams to ensure supply schedule.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier performance.
• Make sure vendor reconciliation with Accounts.
• Forecast demand and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
• Ensure all produce complies with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
• Maintain supplier relationship.
• Visit sites to understand their requirement and ensure to supply dispatch accordingly.
• Ensure all P.Os recorded in ERP on daily basis.
• Prepare rate comparison with all aspects.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 6–7 years of experience in fruit and vegetable procurement (preferably in catering, hospitality, or FMCG sector).
• Strong market knowledge of seasonal produce and quality grading.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
