Purchase & Store Executive

Company: Shyam Chemical Pvt. Ltd. (SCPL)

Location: GIDC, Ankleshwar, Gujarat

Experience: Minimum 2 Years (Manufacturing/Industrial background)

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Role Objective

To manage the end-to-end procurement process for factory consumables, engineering spares, and lab chemicals, while maintaining a lean and highly organized store with 100% inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Requisition Management: Receive and verify Purchase Requisitions (PR) from various departments (Production, Maintenance, Quality).
  • Vendor Development: Sourcing local and regional vendors for engineering items, packaging material, and safety gear.
  • Negotiation: Obtain multiple quotes (minimum 3) for every purchase and negotiate prices, credit terms, and delivery timelines to ensure cost-efficiency.
  • Purchase Orders (PO): Generate POs and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.

2. Store & Inventory Management

  • Inward Inspection: Verify incoming materials against POs and Delivery Challans (DC) for quantity and visible damage. Coordinate with QC for technical approval.
  • Material Issuance: Manage daily material issuance to the shop floor against authorized indent slips.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain 'Min-Max' levels for critical spares and consumables to prevent production downtime.
  • Organized Storage: Implement 5S in the stores area. Ensure all items are binned, tagged, and easily traceable.
  • Stock Audit: Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock verification (Cycle Counting) and reconcile differences with the ERP/Registers.

3. Documentation & Compliance

  • Records Maintenance: Maintain GRN (Goods Received Note), Inward/Outward Registers, and Bin Cards.
  • Invoice Processing: Verify supplier invoices and coordinate with the Accounts department for timely payments.
  • Safety & Statutory: Ensure all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for chemicals are filed. Manage the disposal of scrap material as per company policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Com, B.Sc, or Diploma in Material Management/Engineering).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP software (Tally or similar).
  • Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of industrial hardware, PPE, electrical spares, and chemicals.
  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the GIDC Ankleshwar/Bharuch market for quick sourcing is highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
