Job Title: Purchaser for Construction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, BOQs, and material submittals to identify procurement requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors locally and internationally for construction materials, MEP items, and finishing materials.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), collect and analyze price quotations, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms (price, quality, delivery, payment).
  • Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and QS team to confirm material requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, consultant approvals, and quality standards.
  • Maintain proper procurement records, supplier database, and tracking logs for all purchases.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, or discrepancies.
  • Liaise with logistics and shipping agents for import materials and ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations.
  • Support procurement strategy to reduce costs and improve efficiency in line with company objectives.
  • Adhere to company policies, contractual obligations, and ISO / QHSE standards.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5–8 years of procurement experience in a construction company.
  • Mandatory experience with a Main Contractor in Dubai.
  • Proven track record in high-rise building projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, finishing materials, and MEP items.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of UAE suppliers, local market, and import/export regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) and MS Office.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
