Job Title: Purchaser for Construction
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, BOQs, and material submittals to identify procurement requirements.
- Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors locally and internationally for construction materials, MEP items, and finishing materials.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), collect and analyze price quotations, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms (price, quality, delivery, payment).
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and QS team to confirm material requirements and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, consultant approvals, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper procurement records, supplier database, and tracking logs for all purchases.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, or discrepancies.
- Liaise with logistics and shipping agents for import materials and ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations.
- Support procurement strategy to reduce costs and improve efficiency in line with company objectives.
- Adhere to company policies, contractual obligations, and ISO / QHSE standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering (preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of procurement experience in a construction company.
- Mandatory experience with a Main Contractor in Dubai.
- Proven track record in high-rise building projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, finishing materials, and MEP items.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of UAE suppliers, local market, and import/export regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) and MS Office.
- Strong communication and coordination skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
